Senior Dog Care

Professionally, and personally through rescue work, I have extensive senior dog care experience. Senior dogs can have greater and more specific care needs and concerns. Compared to younger dogs, they can experience more stress and disorientation in an unfamiliar environment. They can experience more rapidly declining health and need closer monitoring. Often senior dogs have physical limitations or need a more tailored environment to better accommodate their aging bodies.

You Know Your Dog Best

Many of my clients have been with me since puppyhood and move into Senior Dog Care as a natural progression of their time here. Others come to me as senior dogs and have not had years of feeling at home at The B&C. The Trial Day and optional Meet & Greet take on even greater importance for older dogs who have not been here before. Knowing how your senior dog will adjust to a new place, new routines and being separated from their family is critical in making the decision of what care is best for your dog.

Transparent Care

Some senior dogs adapt well and even get a boost from the novel experience and the company of other dogs. Other senior dogs can have a hard time adjusting to unfamiliar routines and can feel nervous of being jostled by other dogs. I have frank conversations with you about your dog’s experience and potential risks of boarding your senior dog, empowering you to make an informed decision about your dog’s care.

Providing care to senior dogs is deeply rewarding and close to my heart.
