27 years ago, when my son was born, this was his nursery.  It is a tranquil, light-dappled room in the back of the house.  It has an apart-from-the-world feel to it. Perhaps because it is upstairs, away from the road, in the back third of the house. Perhaps because the window, at 3 stories high, places you among the trees when you look out. Whatever the reason, this room has always been, and remains, a calming, serene space.

This is the room I use for dogs who have gotten overwhelmed and need some respite from high energy playing.  If I have low-energy dogs who don’t find intense play enjoyable, this is the perfect room.  It is the retreat, rest and relaxation room.  Dogs do need to be able to use stairs to enjoy this room. Dog’s unable to use stairs should look into medical boarding options
