Medical Boarding at The Bark & Call Inn is for stable dogs who are under the care of a veterinarian but may need more support than an owner can provide. Examples of dogs staying for a Medical Board are:

  • Post-surgical care
  • Vertigo
  • Physical Instability or Mobility Issues
  • Dogs requiring subcutaneous fluids as part of ongoing care
  • Dogs requiring injections for chronic or acute conditions
  • Dogs requiring meds many times per day
  • Elderly dogs with significant care requirements

If your dog is not physically capable of doing stairs, not structurally sound enough to play with other dogs, or requires more than three medications a day, please reach out about Medical Boarding.

The Bark & Call Inn works individually with each owner to determine if The Bark & Call Inn is the appropriate place for your dog’s care. Conversations with your veterinarian are often a part of this process.

I have been providing care for Medical Board dogs for 20 years. I am not a vet tech. Over the course of my career I have had the opportunity, through experience and working with vets, to care for dogs who require certain medical interventions. I only take on cases I feel confident I have the necessary skills for.

Unstable dogs, or dogs whose medical condition can become unstable easily should seek boarding with a veterinarian. Dogs who are referred to The Bark & Call Inn for Medical Boarding by a veterinarian are given preferential consideration.
